I have been very obsessed with watercolors lately. I have bought tons of watercolor paper, pens, markers and pencils. I have been somewhat unhappy with most of the items that I have tried making with them. I have ended up scrapping a lot of projects because the colors don’t turn out right or I overall just didn’t like the way it looked. At the same time I’ve been obsessed with rainbows and creating the perfect watercolor rainbow effect. Trust me, it’s not that easy. But I eventually came up with this rainbow watercolor scrapbook layout.

I used a watercolor brush and reinkers to color a rainbow in a diagonal path down the paper. I also used several faux stitching techniques on the background. After seeing the finished project, I rejoiced. I had finally made a watercolor rainbow that I liked, no not just liked, I loved!

I added all the embellishments and then the photo with the photo frame border on it. The paper flowers are all handmade from Glitz Design paper and Tim Holtz tattered florals steel ruled die.

I hope this inspires some of you to try your own rainbow watercolor layouts and don’t forget to download our free SVG file.

Free SVG Word Photo Borders
